What is Myotherapy?

Myotherapy is the assessment, treatment and management of muscles that cause pain, restricted movement, tightness and joint problems.  

 

Myotherapists use a wide range of evidence based treatment techniques and skills in order to decrease muscular pain and dysfunction. Myotherapy treatment can help prevent and treat injuries and pain as well as manage ongoing chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Through assessment and early intervention, they can assist with muscle related pain and discomfort.

Treatment includes 
massage techniques including deep tissue, trigger point therapy, dry needling, stretching and exercise prescription. Myotherapists also education about pain management, load management, activity modification and lifestyle modification to achieve the desired results.
