Osteopathy Nunawading

What Is Osteopathy

  • Osteopathy is described as a therapeutic manual medicine that addresses entire body health through treatment of the musculoskeletal system.

  • Osteopathy focuses on structures such as our muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints and connective tissue as well as nerves and circulation to achieve the best results for our patients.

  • Osteopathy is a holistic allied health profession that treats all patients ranging from children, athletes as well as the elderly.

Conditions That We Treat

After an accurate diagnosis has been made, osteopathic treatment will be given. Our experience and knowledge allow us to provide treatment for a variety of complaints, including but not limited to:

  • Back pain

  • Neck pain & headaches

  • Sporting injuries

  • Postural issues

  • Ligament sprains e.g. ankle sprain

  • Tendon issues

  • Muscle strains e.g. hamstring strain

  • Hip, knee and foot pain

  • Shoulder, elbow and wrist pain

As A New Patient

  • A member of the Nunawading osteopathy team will go through a detailed discussion on your current discomfort and previous medical history that is relevant to your current complaint.

  • An assessment is performed to see what your limitations and restrictions are as well as notifying your health and strength.

  • The findings are discussed with you to develop a treatment plan that will assist in recovery, reduce pain and improve your general wellbeing.

  • We will discuss the ‘working diagnosis’ of your injury – what is wrong, why it is and how we can improve it.

  • Movements or exercises to do at home may be prescribed by your osteopath to help you achieve long-term results.

  • Please make sure you wear something suitable that you feel comfortable in.
